Martin Luther King Jr. Day—Atlanta, Georgia
In collaboration with The King Center, Fox 5 Atlanta will live stream the Martin Luther King, Jr. Beloved Community Commemorative Service at Ebenezer Baptist Church New Horizon Sancturary in Atlanta, as well as a march and rally downtown.
Mediation Monday for Martin Luther King Jr. Day—Washington, D.C.
The National Museum of African American History and Culture is hosting a virtual Meditation Monday for Martin Luther King Jr. Day to experience freedom in the present moment and contemplate the journey of Black Americans toward liberation. Online registration is required.
King Day—Memphis, Tennessee
The National Civil Rights Museum at the Lorraine Motel in Memphis, the site of Dr. King’s assassination, is hosting a day-long celebration dedicated to the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., with a special emphasis on community service. They will also hold a candlelit vigil in his honor and a march down Beale Street, where King helped fight for better working conditions for city sanitation workers.
Harlem Gospel Choir: Martin Luther King Jr. Day Matinee—New York City
starting on January 15, the prominent gospel choir based in Harlem, New York will perform matinees during MLK week at Sony Hall to celerbate the life and legacy of Dr. King.

Recognizing the time Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and the Rev. Ralph Abernathy served sentences in a Birmingham jail because they led peaceful protests against unconstitutional bans on “race mixing” in the city in 1963, local students will present a collection of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. speech excerpts, poems and songs that reflect, honor and pay tribute to the legacy of Dr. King.
