A decorated high school cheerleading squad discovers their former captain stole all their winning routines from an inner-city school’s squad run by Gabrielle Union. In the late 1950s, three Harlem-based sisters begin a journey to stardom as a singing group. But their rise to fame is a tough one: one sister struggles with drug addiction and another becomes significantly more famous than the other two. But we’re here to see these sisters overcome their hardships through family bonding and music.
Hustlers (R, 2019)
Keke Palmer bares it all, along with Jennifer Lopez, Constance Wu and a special appearance by Cardi B in this stripper-turned-con film inspired by a 2015 New York Magazine article. The 2019 film chronicles the lives of a real-life group of former exotic dancers who came up with a drugging scheme to exploit their wealthy Wall Street clients’ bank accounts.
