Usher Hosts an Exclusive Met Gala After Party With Black Hollywood in Bloom

Usher hosted a Secret Garden Party after the Met Gala at The Terrace and Outdoor Gardens inside The Times Square EDITION in New York City. Transformed into an opulent, lush garden space with fresh greenery, florals and over-the-top topiary, a nod to the Met Gala theme, The Garden of Time, the exclusive fete featured a live DJ set by D-Nice, along with drinks, dancing and a glitzy array of entertainment and VIP guests. Naomi Campbell, Janelle Monae, Erykah Badu, Dwyane Wade, Gabrielle Union, Michele Lamy, Taraji P Henson Winnie Harlow and more were among the A-list crowd in attendance.

Thelma, Nana and Brenda Agyekum, the stars of Royal Rules of Ohio, hosted a private dinner party at Teranga inside the Africa Center in Harlem, New York. The docuseries follows the three Ghanaian sisters—royal descendants of two of the most wealthy and powerful Ghanaian kingdoms—as they navigate their twenties in Columbus, Ohio. Royal Rules of Ohio premieres May 15, 2024, on Freeform.

EmPowerHER NYC, spearheaded by Kyle Anfernee of The Neighborhood Talk and Malika Manning Marketing, launched with a powerful inaugural event designed to fuel the success of Black women in business. The event featured expert-led panels and celebrated figures like Amber Sabathia, Jeanine McLean, Pinky Cole, Janell Stephens, Janeisha John, Ameenha Lee and more.

Attendees left armed with knowledge of branding and the power of networking, along with the skills to overcome industry obstacles. A celebratory dinner honored inspiring figures in the community.
