Andra Day to Perform at This Year’s NAACP Image Awards ‘For The Fellas’ Makes Awards Debut

Andra Day has been tapped to perform at the 55th NAACP Image Awards, airing live this weekend. The Golden Globe winner will grace the stage along with poet laureate Amanda Gorman, who is being honored with the prestigious Chairman’s Award. R&B supergroup New Edition will receive the Hall of Fame Award.

The NAACP and BET have also announced the ceremony’s A-list presenters, which include Delroy Lindo, Deon Cole, Diarra Kilpatrick, Donnie Wahlberg, Erika Alexander, Idris Elba, Jeffrey Wright, Keke Palmer, Kenya Barris, Kerry Washington, Leslie Jones, Lil Rel Howery, Morris Chestnut, Ryan Michelle Bathe, Sabrina Elba, Sterling K. Brown and Taraji P. Henson. Queen Latifah returns as host for the second consecutive, as previously announced.

This year’s ceremony will be more inclusive than ever, along with its impressive roster of performers and presenters. For the first time in BET history, audio descriptions will be available for the live telecast, ensuring that blind and visually impaired viewers can enjoy the broadcast. Industry leaders VITAC and Audio Eyes will provide the audio description on the Secondary Audio Programming (SAP) channel.

In addition, BET Media Group will premiere a special edition of the popular digital series For The Fellas to celebrate the 55th NAACP Image Awards and Women’s History Month. D.C. Young Fly, Malcolm Mays and Lenny S. will discuss their love for Black women, their experiences in Hollywood and how to cope with depression. For The Fellas premieres Friday, March 15, 2024, on BET’s Facebook and YouTube channels.

The 55th NAACP Image Awards will air live on Saturday, March 16, 2024, at 8 p.m. ET/PT, and EBONY will be reporting live from its carpet.
