Cash Cobain & J. Cole Unexpectedly Join Forces for New Song ‘Grippy’

New York’s Cash Cobain continues his impressive hot streak with a new version of his song “Dunk Contest.” Renamed “Grippy,” this new song serves as somewhat of a remix and features J. Cole, making for an unexpected pairing. Cole starts things off rapping about a shorty he put in his phone as Grippy, rapping, “She like my kick game/And when you me you don’t kick game/I put her front row at the Knick game/Now she in my phone with a nickname.”
The rest of the verse is pretty good as Cole continues to beat the “he can’t rap about sex and romance” allegations just as he did on his Future and Metro “Red Leather” feature. Cash’s part is basically his “Dunk Contest” verses, but we’ll allow it. That’s just how remixes are these days. You have to give him credit for getting Cole some play in your local strip club.
Recently Cash was featured on Don Toliver’s new song “Attitude” alongside Charlie Wilson and put out the remix to his hit record “Fisherrr” featuring Bay Swag and Ice Spice. He was also our Rookie of the Month for April where he mentioned working with Toliver, as well as Travis Scott, and Frank Ocean.
The rapper/producer also has his Play Cash Cobain EP on the way with art direction being handled by none other than Drake. This kid is essentially a man smoking at a gas station.
Be sure to stretch before playing this song, so you can hit the Reemski one time for the one time.
