Stress-Free Holiday Hosting…It’s Possible!
Written by Eric Renner Brown on December 12, 2023
The holiday season is upon us, and what better way to spread holiday cheer than by welcoming family & friends into your home. Hosting holiday gatherings allows you to create new memories, continue traditions and foster special bonds for years to come. But if you think hosting has to be stressful, think again.
Here are a few tips to help you become a stress-free host with the most!
‘Tis the season of giving
If you’re anything like me, the holidays put you in a giving mood. One way to add an extra layer of magic to your holiday gatherings is by offering thoughtful gifts to your guests as they arrive or leave. As the host, this is a great way to show your appreciation and love for the special people in your life.
Even better, you can use a delivery service to order and receive exactly what you need right in the nick of time. You can get everything from prepared food & groceries to gifts & gift-wrapping supplies without having to leave your house.
Hosting a Pollyanna gift exchange is also a great way to spread the joy of giving during your gathering. Pre-packaged gift baskets are a good option or you can buy the materials to create your own customized version. I love using candy in dishes or mugs wrapped in clear cellophane to create custom gifts for my guests.
Create experiences
Keep the holiday spirit flowing by creating mini experiences and tying them into the gifts you give guests. For example, you can order all the ingredients you need to set up a hot chocolate bar and then gift your guests’ cute mugs with hot chocolate stirrers inside.
Another idea is to set the atmosphere in your home with a scented candle. For any guest who comments on how great it smells, gift them with the same scented candle.
Incorporate games! They can also add a fun touch to holiday events. You can even purchase a few gift cards to give out as prizes for the winners.
For those loved ones who aren’t able to make it, consider sending them a thoughtful bouquet or gift basket and trust that it’ll arrive same day using a delivery service.
Remember you don’t have to do it all
Being the host with the most doesn’t mean you have to do everything yourself. If you don’t have the capacity to cook all the food, consider using a delivery service to order a few of your prepared dishes. Instead of baking all those cookies & treats yourself, order some. Not only can you add them to your dessert table, you can put them in small decorative bags and gift them to your guests as they leave.
Don’t stress yourself out trying to do everything this season. Enlist the help of your family and friends and utilize delivery services to get everything you need (in advance or last minute) to host a stress-free holiday gathering.
